Arts and Crafts Inspired Coffee Table$1995*

This classic Arts & Crafts inspired coffee table is made with solid quarter-sawn white oak. It features mortise and tenon joints and a durable hand-rubbed oil finish. The legs are assembled from four interlocking quarter-sawn pieces. I hand select these boards to ensure a highly figured appearance and also to create a complimentary flow of grain and flecks across the furniture. This technique creates a highly figured appearance on all four sides of the leg, and it allows me to better control the appearance of the furniture. The spindles are created from a hand-selected single board. Again, I look for an interesting pattern or flow that will compliment the table. My breadboard ends evoke the memory of classical Greene & Greene furniture designs. Mechanically, the breadboard ends help to ensure your table top stays flat while allowing the solid wood top to expand and contract as necessary.
